“Empowering women to participate fully in the modern economy would light a fire under global growth.” That’s how the first Bloomberg article listed below opens up. When you have a minute, take time to read that article and play with the interactive graphs from The Economist this week. Stay tuned for an upcoming conversation on this… it really goes to show how important the framing of an opportunity can be. While we can discuss word choice and whether it’s “empower” or “enable,” the snowball of awareness of the opportunity seems to be growing, and already we see some action toward [slowly] reversing some of what the last year threw at us.
This week, we’re opening up the site to an even wider group of testers (!). It’s exciting (and a bit nerve-wracking), so if you’re signed up for beta, we’d love for you to come check it out. You’ll receive an email with instructions. Come drop your resume, start conversations and sign up for upcoming events like our negotiation workshop happening Thursday (come propose some new events, too). Sparking conversation and building dialogue on a community site is sort of a “what came first: the chicken vs. the egg… situation” so we’d love for you to sign up and help us kick things off… ask and answer questions, join groups, add connections as we invite more inside, and let us know when pages and features inevitably break. Also, would love your general input and feedback on the platform as we continue to iterate.
PSA: if you’re with a brand or organization or in a position to hire, please reach out to find out how you can tap into our growing global network of smart, ambitious professionals. Reply or go here. If you’re job searching, companies like Pipeline Equity & Rosetta Digital and more are waiting to hear from qualified members of MBAchic (scroll to “Jobs” below).
Thanks again for all of your support. We can’t wait to see you inside!
Sending you good vibes for the week ahead…
